BharatGPT, a sizable consortium supported by Reliance Industries’s Mukesh Ambani, is about to unveil an artificial intelligence (AI) model specifically designed for India. I shot the ball. According to a Hindustan Times report, the AI model, called Hanooman, represents India’s efforts to develop possibly ground-breaking AI technology. The AI model developed by BharatGPT will target four important industries: healthcare, financial services, governance, and education. It will function in eleven regional languages.
An invited audience was given a sneak peek of the AI model at a recent event. The AI model offered an insight into how it works. A banker conversed with an AI bot in Hindi. A bike mechanic asked a question in Tamil. The AI model assisted a developer as they wrote computer code.IITs collaborated on the creation of “Hanooman”.
Universities affiliated with the Indian Institute of Technology and Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. are collaborating to create the AI model. The study also stated that startups like Sarvam and Krutrim, supported by Vinod Khosla’s fund and Lightspeed Venture Partners, are creating open-source AI models specifically for the Indian market.
“Hanooman” Will Feature Speech-To-Text Functionality
In order to improve usability, Hanooman will give users speech-to-text capabilities. Major telecom provider Reliance Jio also intends to create bespoke versions for particular uses. Additionally, Reliance is working on Jio Brain, a platform that will use AI throughout its network of about 450 million users nationwide.
As you may remember, Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash Ambani discussed the company’s 2014-starting collaboration with IIT-Bombay at a gathering last year. He highlighted that Jio 2.0, the company’s ambitious objective to cultivate an all-encompassing ecosystem, is in line with the introduction of BharatGPT.
