The Africa Stablecoin Summit is a two-day meeting of regulators, banks, fintechs and stablecoin issuers working on digital payments in Africa. The 2026 edition is in Cape Town.
The summit is hosted by Chasing Mavericks and follows a first edition held in Johannesburg in 2025. The 2026 theme is 'Stablecoins at Scale: Institutional Adoption & Financial Infrastructure'.
The organizer describes a curated format aimed at decision-makers: central bank and finance ministry officials, commercial banks, corporate treasurers, stablecoin issuers, custody providers and on and off-ramp platforms. Stated goals include dialogue on licensing, supervision and AML rules, and showing working use cases in trade, remittances and treasury.
