Tether’s USD₮0 stablecoin has expanded its reach, now launching on Optimism’s Superchain. This move significantly increases the accessibility of the widely used stablecoin within the Ethereum layer-2 ecosystem. The deployment aims to bolster the functionality and liquidity of decentralized finance (DeFi) applications within the Superchain network.
Specifically, USD₮0 is now live on the OP Mainnet, a key component of Optimism’s Superchain. This expansion follows earlier deployments of USD₮0, including its initial launch on Ink, Kraken’s DeFi-focused layer-2 solution. USD₮0 is designed to facilitate seamless interoperability across various blockchain networks, enhancing the utility of Tether’s stablecoin.

The Superchain itself is a network of layer-2 chains built using Optimism’s OP Stack, designed to scale Ethereum. The integration of USD₮0 is expected to attract more assets, applications, and partners to the Superchain, further driving its growth. This development highlights the growing importance of stablecoins in the DeFi space, where they play a crucial role in providing stability and facilitating transactions.
The move also underscores Tether’s continued efforts to expand the utility of its stablecoin across various blockchain networks. By integrating with Optimism’s Superchain, Tether is positioning USD₮0 to play a key role in the future of Ethereum layer-2 scaling.
