The layer-1 blockchain platform Aptos, developed by former Facebook employees, has achieved a new milestone in user transactions. On May 25th, it surpassed industry giants like Solana by recording a staggering 115.4 million transactions in a single day. This shatters the previous record held by the Sui Network, which processed over 65 million transactions.

This surge in activity signifies a significant increase in adoption and overall network health for Aptos. Attributing to this record is the recent launch of “Tapos Cat,” a popular play-to-earn game where users can earn rewards by interacting with a virtual cat. Within its first day on the Aptos mainnet, Tapos Cat itself processed an impressive 10 million transactions, contributing significantly to the overall volume.

Aptos also hit a new peak in transactions per second (TPS), reaching an impressive 32,000 on the same day. This metric signifies Aptos’ ability to handle a high volume of transactions efficiently, making it a strong contender in the race for scalable blockchain solutions.

While the surge is partly attributed to a specific game, it also indicates growing interest in the Aptos ecosystem. Whether this user activity translates to long-term adoption and real-world use cases remains to be seen. However, this record-breaking day undeniably positions Aptos as a force to be reckoned with in the ever-evolving blockchain landscape.
