Former Tech Mahindra CEO CP Gurnani and IndiGo’s Group Managing Director Rahul Bhatia have joined forces to launch a new artificial intelligence (AI) venture. The company, christened AionOS, was officially unveiled on April 23rd, 2024.

AionOS will focus on developing and delivering AI-powered Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions specifically tailored for businesses in the travel, transportation, logistics, and hospitality (TTLH) sectors. Their goal is to empower these businesses to leverage AI to boost revenue, streamline operations, and enhance customer experiences.

The company highlights the use of generative AI, a powerful technology capable of creating entirely new content, in its solution suite. AionOS envisions a future where AI seamlessly integrates into TTLH businesses, transforming them into “intelligent enterprises” that are not only responsive to current needs but can also predict and adapt to future challenges.

Interestingly, InterGlobe Enterprises, the parent company of IndiGo, has acquired a majority stake in AionOS. This strategic move signifies a significant investment in AI’s potential for the travel and hospitality industries.

Gurnani, known for his expertise in technological innovation, brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at Tech Mahindra, a leading IT services provider. Bhatia, on the other hand, leverages his deep understanding of the TTLH sector, particularly the airline industry, to guide AionOS’s focus.

The establishment of AionOS comes at a time when AI is rapidly reshaping industries worldwide. With its focus on the TTLH sector, AionOS positions itself to be a key player in driving digital transformation within these crucial industries. The company’s success will depend on its ability to deliver effective AI solutions that address the specific needs and challenges of its target market.

This joint venture between a veteran tech leader and a prominent aviation industry figure is a significant development in India’s AI landscape. AionOS’s performance will be closely watched as it strives to revolutionize the way businesses in the TTLH sector operate and interact with their customers using artificial intelligence.
