Tether has launched its flagship stablecoin, USDt, on the Kaia blockchain, marking a major milestone in the company’s expansion into Asia. This integration adds USDt to LINE’s enormous ecosystem, which has more than 196 million monthly active users in the region. Through this collaboration with LINE NEXT, the Web3 arm of LINE Corporation, users can now utilize USDt within LINE’s Mini DApps and self-custodial wallet, facilitating in-app payments, cross-border transfers, and decentralized finance (DeFi) activities.
The Kaia blockchain, which is noted for its low latency transactions and rapid finality, is an excellent foundation for stablecoin operations. Sam Seo, chair of the Kaia DLT Foundation, stated that the partnership’s goal is to provide customers with the fastest, easiest, and most reliable USDT experience across several platforms, including LINE, DeFi applications, and centralized exchanges.

Tether’s CEO, Paolo Ardoino, stated that this action demonstrates the company’s dedication to promoting stablecoin acceptance in Asia and beyond. The integration of USDt into LINE’s ecosystem offers users a seamless way to engage with digital assets in their daily lives, potentially broadening the adoption of cryptocurrencies in the region.
This project is part of Tether’s larger goal of increasing its visibility across several blockchains and ecosystems. By integrating USDt into widely used platforms like LINE, Tether aims to enhance the accessibility and utility of stablecoins, paving the way for more widespread adoption of digital currencies in everyday transactions.
