At the America Business Forum in Miami, U.S. President Donald J. Trump renewed his call for stronger national leadership in cryptocurrency and blockchain innovation. During his keynote address, he outlined a vision to establish the United States as the world’s top hub for Bitcoin and digital assets, while warning that China and other countries are quickly advancing in the same space.
Ending Washington’s Hostility Toward Crypto
Speaking on Wednesday afternoon, Trump said his administration had taken decisive steps to reverse what he described as the federal government’s previous hostility toward crypto.
“I’ve signed executive orders that ended the government’s war on crypto,” he stated. “This industry was under siege for years, but not anymore.”
Trump emphasized the sector’s growing importance, noting that many leading American business figures are now involved in digital finance. He also argued that cryptocurrency supports the strength of the U.S. dollar, claiming it can “ease pressure on the dollar and create positive financial opportunities.”
The president contrasted his stance with that of the prior administration, accusing it of treating crypto innovators unfairly.
Building the U.S. as the Global Crypto and AI Leader
Trump portrayed his broader economic vision as combining blockchain and artificial intelligence leadership.
“We’re turning the United States into the Bitcoin superpower—the crypto capital of the world,” he said. “And we’ll remain the number one nation in AI.”
He presented this as part of a long-term plan to tie technological progress to American competitiveness in the global market.
China’s Growing Interest Sparks Warning
The president also pointed to China’s increasing involvement in blockchain development, cautioning that the U.S. must move quickly to keep its edge.
“If America hesitates, China will take the lead,” he warned. “They’re moving aggressively, and other countries are following. We must act now because it’s a massive global industry.”
Trump’s Miami appearance focused more on reaffirming direction than introducing new programs or deadlines.
Ongoing Crypto Policy Initiatives in Washington
So far this year, several government actions have aligned with Trump’s pro-crypto position. The administration announced plans to form a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and a U.S. Digital Asset Stockpile, primarily using coins acquired through federal forfeitures and law-enforcement seizures.
Additionally, the GENIUS Act, signed in July 2025, created a regulatory framework for stablecoins, giving digital-asset issuers clearer rules for compliance and transparency. Broader market-structure legislation is still in development.
The Trump team has also rejected proposals for a U.S. central bank digital currency (CBDC), arguing that privately issued crypto assets align more closely with the principle of dollar dominance.
Conclusion
Trump’s latest remarks underline a clear ambition: to place the United States at the center of the global crypto economy while resisting competition from China and others. His message from Miami highlights a belief that innovation in Bitcoin, blockchain, and AI will define the next era of American financial leadership.
