The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced that it has begun sending reparations to investors who participated in the initial coin offering (ICO) conducted by BitClave PTE Ltd. in 2017.
The ICO, which raised over $25 million, was deemed to be an unregistered offering of securities by the SEC. BitClave has consented to pay a penalty of $400,000, $25.5 million in disgorgement, and $3.44 million in prejudgment interest.

The SEC has established a Fair Fund to distribute these funds to harmed investors. BitClave will also be required to delist its Consumer Activity Tokens (CAT) from all digital asset trading platforms. The SEC’s action against BitClave highlights the importance of complying with securities laws when conducting ICOs.
