Microsoft is making graphic design more accessible with the official launch of its AI-powered Designer app on iOS and Android devices. This marks the app’s expansion beyond its initial preview stage and into the hands of mobile users.

The designer offers a user-friendly experience similar to the popular design platform Canva. Users can leverage the power of AI to create a variety of visual content, including social media graphics, invitations, greeting cards, collages, and more. All this can be achieved through simple text prompts.
The app boasts several features that empower creativity:
- AI-powered image generation: Describe what you envision using text prompts, and the Designer’s AI will generate unique images tailored to your request.
- Pre-designed templates: Get a head start with customizable templates that offer various styles and layouts to jump-start your design projects.
- Photo editing with AI: Breathe new life into your photos! Upload selfies or other images and use AI to apply different artistic styles or add details based on your descriptions.
Looking ahead, Microsoft plans to introduce a “replace background” feature within Designer. This will allow users to manipulate image backgrounds using text prompts, further enhancing creative possibilities.
