An organized fight over the weekend between crypto influencer Ben “BitBoy” Armstrong and memecoin developer “More Light” appeared to be more than simply frantic flailing of arms and legs.
Their respective memecoins, Ben (BEN) and HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu (BITCOIN), likewise fluctuated before and after the contest.
On February 24, the pair competed in a crypto influencer fight night staged by the combat sports business Karate Combat in Mexico.

The pseudonymous developer of BITCOIN known as “More Light” stated he chose to join the fight “on a whim” about four weeks before the event.
“I informed the Karate Combat organizer that if BitBoy’s opponent dropped out, I would fight him. “I only found out about the fight four or five weeks ago and had been relaxing rather than training,” More Light explained.
“So, I had to get my ass in gear fast.”
More Light remarked that he did not expect Armstrong to come out so “amped up” and was caught aback by his crazy expressions and swinging for the fence.
Memecoin Swings And Haymakers
According to pre-fight data from the decentralized betting software Polymarkets, More Light was the public favorite in the buildup to the fight, with 62% of bets going to the memecoin developer.
However, Armstrong emerged victorious, winning by unanimous decision after three two-minute rounds of boxing.
Following Armstrong’s victory, the price of $BITCOIN dropped more than 20% in four hours, from $0.052 to $0.040. The token has now recovered and is now trading at approximately $0.056, up 40% from the end of the fight.
Meanwhile, the price of an Armstrong-linked memecoin known as BEN skyrocketed 87% following Armstrong’s triumph, rising from $0.000004 to $0.0000075 in six hours. The token’s price has since fallen back to roughly $0.000005, according to Dex Screener .
