The Ethereum Foundation has reorganized its leadership to clarify the duties of its management team & board of directors. The board will now function as a “security council” focused on safeguarding Ethereum’s core values and setting the overall vision for the blockchain. In contrast, the newly established management team will be responsible for the practical implementation and strategic direction of those ideas.
Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz K. Stańczak were named co-executive directors on March 2, with a mandate to further the foundation’s basic ideals of censorship resistance, open-source innovation, privacy, and security, according to an April 28 blog post.
Wang and Stańczak begun working on April 28 X post. Stańczak’s term is two years. His leadership will coincide with his current work as the creator of Ethereum infrastructure business Nethermind, as well as his engagement in a new Ethereum-focused venture capital firm that will be announced shortly.
4/ This requires constant evolution. The EF must change with the ecosystem, adapting to the community’s needs while maintaining our core principles.

The shift also underscores the Ethereum Foundation’s commitment to transparency and efficiency as it navigates the complexities of the rapidly evolving blockchain landscape. By distinguishing between governance and administration, the foundation wants to increase its emphasis on Ethereum’s long-term objectives while more effectively tackling urgent difficulties.
This restructuring has been viewed as a crucial step in Ethereum’s continued development, particularly as the network transitions to its highly anticipated upgrades and works to maintain its leadership in the blockchain space. With this new governance model in place, the Ethereum Foundation is positioning itself for even greater success as it tackles the next phase of the blockchain revolution.
