DeLorean, the legendary automaker synonymous with the ‘Back to the Future’ franchise, is steering into the digital age by integrating blockchain technology into its vehicle reservation system. In collaboration with Otherlife, a Web3 creative agency acquired by MoonPay, DeLorean has launched an on-chain reservation platform on the Sui blockchain network.
This revolutionary platform presents the Build Slot NFT collection, which gives holders priority access to DeLorean’s forthcoming electric vehicle, the Alpha 5 EV. Each NFT serves as a digital reservation, allowing users to buy, sell, and trade their vehicle build slots using the USDC stablecoin.

Beyond reservations, the platform leverages the FLUX protocol to record comprehensive vehicle data on-chain, including battery health, maintenance records, accident history, and verified odometer readings. This ensures transparency and provides potential buyers with detailed insights into each vehicle’s history.
Further embracing the Web3 ecosystem, DeLorean Labs, the company’s digital innovation arm, has announced the launch of the $DMC utility token on the Sui LaunchPad. This token is intended to increase user engagement by providing access to special DeLorean experiences, digital collectibles, and prospective participation in the brand’s developing ecosystem.
