Daakia Private Limited, an Indian AI startup in the enterprise software and digital communication space, has secured Rs 4 crore in seed funding. This investment will fuel their expansion plans in rural and remote areas while also strengthening their presence in metropolitan and tier-1 cities.
The funding round attracted a group of strategic investors led by Sasi Kumar Marasu, the MD of Green Apple Enterprises. Other angel investors also participated.
Daakia’s mission is to bridge the digital divide by providing user-centric services that promote collaboration and empower citizens. This fresh capital injection will allow them to scale their platform and offer a cost-effective, Indian-made alternative to popular communication tools like WhatsApp and Zoom.
The funds will be used for three key purposes: expanding their team, enhancing their existing AI technology, and reaching a wider customer base. Notably, a significant focus will be placed on overcoming challenges in rural areas with limited internet access.
This development highlights the growing prominence of AI-powered solutions in India, particularly those catering to the specific needs of a geographically diverse country. Daakia’s success in securing funding underscores the potential of such solutions to bridge the gap between urban and rural communities.
