Cardano’s Plomin hard fork has officially gone live, marking a significant step towards full decentralized governance for the blockchain platform. This upgrade empowers ADA holders with greater control over the network’s future, enabling them to participate in key decision-making processes.
Tonight, Cardano evolves.
The Plomin hard fork takes effect, marking the transition to full decentralized governance. $Ada holders gain real voting power—on parameter changes, treasury withdrawals, hard forks, and the blockchain’s future.
A milestone in blockchain governance.

The Plomin hard fork implements the final components of Cardano’s Voltaire era, which focuses on establishing a sustainable and community-driven governance model. With this upgrade, ADA holders can now delegate their voting rights to Decentralized Representatives (DReps), who will represent them in on-chain governance proposals. These proposals can include decisions on protocol updates, treasury spending, and even future hard forks.
We are pleased to announce that we have voted YES on the Plomin Hard Fork governance action. 🗳️
After a thorough review, we have determined that the governance action is fully constitutional.

The successful activation of Plomin follows a rigorous testing and approval process, demonstrating the Cardano community’s commitment to a secure and transparent governance system. This milestone signifies a major shift in Cardano’s evolution, transitioning from a development-led model to a community-led one.
While the immediate impact of Plomin may not be immediately visible, it lays the foundation for a truly decentralized Cardano ecosystem. As more ADA holders participate in governance through DReps, the network is expected to become more resilient, adaptable, and aligned with the needs of its community.
This move by Cardano highlights the growing trend of decentralized governance in the blockchain space. By empowering token holders with decision-making power, projects like Cardano are striving to create more inclusive and democratic ecosystems.
