Bitget has recently made significant strides in expanding its global presence by securing regulatory approvals in both Georgia and Vietnam, marking a pivotal moment in the exchange’s international growth strategy. In Georgia, Bitget has obtained authorization to operate as a digital asset exchange and custodial wallet provider within the Tbilisi Free Zone (TFZ), a move that aligns with the country’s progressive approach to cryptocurrency regulation.
The Georgian government actively engages with businesses when shaping crypto-related laws and provides grants to blockchain and crypto companies through the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA). This supportive environment offers Bitget a favorable landscape to offer its full suite of services, including spot trading, futures, and copy trading, all within a compliant and secure framework.
In Vietnam, Bitget has introduced national QR payment support as part of its global PayFi initiative, making it the first market to go live with this feature. Users can now make crypto payments using VietQR, Vietnam’s national QR standard, enabling transactions with stablecoins such as USDT and USDC across multiple blockchains, including Ethereum, Tron, Solana, Base, TON, and BNB Chain. This integration allows for seamless payments at over 2 million merchants nationwide, ranging from large retailers to small businesses.
The collaboration with licensed partner AEON’s crypto payment framework ensures that these transactions are supported by more than 55 banks and payment institutions, including major entities like VietinBank and Vietcombank. This development comes on the heels of Vietnam’s National Assembly approving the Law on Digital Technology Industry, which formally recognizes crypto assets and sets the stage for the regulated development of the sector. The law, effective January 1, 2026, introduces cybersecurity and Anti-Money Laundering requirements aligned with global standards, further solidifying the country’s commitment to fostering a secure and regulated crypto ecosystem.
These strategic expansions into Georgia and Vietnam underscore Bitget’s commitment to enhancing its global footprint and providing users with secure, compliant, and innovative crypto services. By aligning with favorable regulatory environments and introducing user-friendly payment solutions, Bitget is positioning itself as a key player in the evolving global cryptocurrency landscape.
