AgriFORCE Growing Systems, a Canadian agriculture-based tech company, has just flipped the switch on a novel energy‑to‑compute operation in Berwyn, Alberta. Through a partnership with BlueFlare Energy, they’re harnessing 425 kW of “stranded” natural gas—gas that’s usually too expensive or logistically tricky to transport—to power 120 Bitcoin mining rigs, delivering over 32 PH/s of computing power, AgriFORCE said on Tuesday.

What makes this setup noteworthy isn’t just the numbers. It’s the eco‑driven mindset behind it. Instead of letting that gas go to waste (or worse, be flared into the atmosphere), AgriFORCE is turning it into value—computational and financial—within mere weeks, bypassing lengthy grid permits or infrastructure upgrades.
They’re also thinking big. A legally binding agreement with BlueFlare opens the way to two more locations in Oyen and Hinton. Combined, these will add roughly 1.3 MW of similar modular, self‑contained compute power, and could be used for more than just Bitcoin—think AI workloads, industrial tasks, and edge computing.
So far, AgriFORCE has mined seven Bitcoin—about US$ $735,000 worth—and is keeping up to half in its treasury as it builds and buys more BTC to fuel growth. Their ultimate goal? Reach 1 EH/s (that’s exahash per second!) by early 2026, merging clean‑energy efficiency with decentralized compute infrastructure.
In essence, AgriFORCE is turning a stranded resource into a stranded opportunity—transforming gas into green‑minded compute while fast‑tracking expansion.
