Apple has announced the release of its first set of Apple Intelligence features for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users. Available as a free software update with the release of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, Apple Intelligence is a personal intelligence system that leverages Apple silicon to understand and create language and images, take action across apps, and draw from personal context to simplify and accelerate everyday tasks while prioritizing privacy.
This first set of features includes system-wide Writing Tools to enhance writing and communication across various Apple apps, such as rewriting text to adjust tone and style, proofreading grammar and sentence structure, and summarizing text. Siri also gets a major overhaul with improved natural language understanding, multimodal input, device guidance, onscreen awareness, and personalized intelligence. Other features include Priority Messages, natural language search in Photos, and more.
